Yet another tricky challenge at The Daily Post…this week we have to post images that portray ESCAPE. This required much searching through old photographs, but finally I came up with something that depicts escape to me.
These photographs are from my 2008 trip through Cambodia. I decided to take a boat trip down the Tonlé Sap to get from Siem Riep to Battembang. On the way we passed through the floating villages, a unique and enchanting experience.
The lives of the fisherman and their families, living isolated in their floating or stilted houses, completely summarises escape for me. Escape from reality, escape from civilisation, escape from solid land.
